Isadora Is Awesome

Mint Linux 9 has arrived. Code named Isadora. This is a very nice desktop Linux. A couple tweaks and wow!

Things that make me think

Christianity started in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise.”

Isadora Has Arrived

I have had a couple of days to check out the newest Linux Mint code name "Isadora" and while this is a RC and not final it is good. The only thing I have done is add the Awn dock and a few bits of software. It is very fast and very clean.

Changes

Well our Executive Director is stepping down after 10 years. The board has been looking for his replacement and soon enough we will be under new leadership. I cannot even begin to say how much I have leaned and grown under the leadership Tim Larose has provided. He has been a great mentor and a unique example of God's Grace in motion. Bless you Tim where ever you go and what ever you do. You are and will always be my friend! I treasure the past and look forward to what comes next.

I Don't Get It

I have tried now several times to watch a Quentin Tarantino movie..... I don't get it. They are really bad films. I have never watched a complete movie as I just get repulsed and bored.

Winter Flying

This winter has been mild and short. We have been able to drive up to Little Dome all winter and yesterday was the first time I flew in lift. What a great feeling.

Sweet Sundays

Well I thought I was going flying today but the inversion holding akk this fog and cloud will not give up. The Olympics are in full swing and all is quiet in the house. I am planning to visit my old friend Lyle Peel tonight. He has started a new gathering place for the faithful and I am looking forward to some time of worship with him.

An Interesting Thought

“Humility is the God-given self-assurance that eliminates the need to prove to others the worth of who you are, and the rightness of what you do.”

Christmas

It's here again and I have decided to do it different. No crazy shopping, no work till I drop. I pray this season will find many in a place of deep gratitude and profound calm knowing that the One who made them is passionately loving them in ways that we cannot even explain.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among them.

One of Many

John Gibbons passed away of the week-end. He had not reached his 40th birthday. John struggled to find peace in this world and now that struggle is over. God bless you John. Your home now in the arms of your Savior.

Helena Has Arrived

The first RC of Mint * has arrived and It is very nice. A few tweaks and here is a screen shot. I downloaded Gnome Do with a few docklets and set it to Docky mode and replaced Rhythmbox with Banshee. This is such a nice operating system with very nice software choices. Open Source community is truly amazing. Webcam, wireless, printers/scanners all worked out of the box. Even the soft keys for volume and wireless and touchpad lock all work. Very Groovy
