A little shy 

Jackie and I rode home from her work in Valleyview. It is about 40k return. We stopped in the Rez and had a little visit with the horses. They have quite the personality 

The river is rising, muddy and brown. Way up high all by himself stood this big old canada goose. Standing in the shadows of the bridge he watches over the river. 

I was invited to Kristine's School to do a cooking demo. I had a ball doing Mushroom meatballs and egg noodles. I think the kids enjoyed the lesson. I was amazed here I was first day of school and here I was teaching the class :-}

Oh that Linux

I have been on the hunt the last few days to find a free Linux distribution that will work on my laptop. So far Mepis is the most promising. It is a live boot CD that can be installed to the hard drive. It would seem that Linux uses it's own language. And has a different ways of doing simple things like downloading programs and installing them. It comes as a distibution rather than just an OS, translation being when you install a linux distribution you get all the software you could ever need. Including a full office suite. Multimedia programs. The list is huge. If you have an old system that you want to breathe new life into try a small distro like BeatriX or Dam Small Linux or perhaps Puppy Linux. All these and more can be found for free at www.linux.org

My buddy Bob showed up today and stopped in for awhile. We only had a few minutes to visit as he was going to Castlegar but it was great to see him again. We go way back 20 years or so. He was my best man, twice

It's sunday afternoon

And I am attempting a fresh install of Simply Mepis a new Linux OS. It has been a bit of a journey but I think I can see the light. I am trying to install it on an old PII 400 with 128 ram. It looks pretty cool so far. I tried the live CD version first and decided to go for it. I will write soon and let you know how it went.

Saturday Again

Here we are again. It came so quickly I must say I am suprised. I spent the day with my family and enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to Sunday and the rising of the sun.

We saw this lady on our trip with her two little dogs pulling her along the trail. It was very amusing. 

Sunday and off we go for a bike ride. We cycled to downtown. Bused up to Costco and zoomed down town again. And then looped home on the bus. It was the first time Kris had ever done 60 + km/ph down the road on a bike she had fun. We are home and safe time for a little Halo 

Kris and I took a little ride down to the river. Once we got past the mud it was fun. Skipping a few stones and enjoying the day. 

It's funny how fast sunday comes around.

Another week sweept past. It seemed to fly by as I tried to fit all the pieces of my new job description together. I had a chance to shoot the Samon Arm Silverbacks, wow good hockey. Very fast and skillfull. Sunday has been pretty slow. Just the way it should be. Kris and I took a walk around the dike this morning. It has been an awesome day weather wise. Bright sunny and warm. It's a good day to be me. Time to call my family and let them know I'm alive.

The moon was awesome last night. It took a few tries but I got a couple of decent shots. The crater on the bottom right is massive. It gives me a marvelous sense of wonder. God you are awesome.

It's Sunday again

We all took off today for a little shopping. It was a cloudless sky, bright and sunny but still quite cold. I snapped this picture Of my wife and daughter with my new Canon A75 it's a great little camera.

Fridays

It's friday and work is done for a couple of days. It's good to be home with family and resting . I love my ministy but rest is a good thing. Allan and I are going to see the Blazers tomorrow but tonight I rest.

Sweet Sunday Morning

I have known the peace of God's sweet grace this morning. In the quiet overcast that unfolds as Sunday Feb.13. It is my sisters b-day and so I shall call her to send warm wishes and share in news of her day. A little snow flurry blew through as I am righting this, a strange contrast to yesterdays sunshine. Kinda like the days we walk through in this life. My wife rises from her studies to offer a meal and with that the house stirs from it's slumber. Thats all for now time to step into motion.

This is apicture of a local statue in the downtown core. I like the feel of it. Unseen behind the two adults is a child holding on to his fathers legs. 

It's Saturday and I have spent the day well. Slept late played hard. Bike riding with Kris, we feed the Emu's and Goats. That was my first ride of the year, it felt good. I'm looking forward to getting my legs back and cycling to work and back this spring. 

Here I am again

It's Wed. night and all is well. The week is half spent. Sometimes I think I need to stop and just let the world slide right on by. Had a frustrating day, worked hard but got nothing done. I guess thats the way it goes sometimes. I'm thinking a good night sleep will make it all a little better. God Bless and good night.

Saturday Afternoon's

Just got home a couple of hours ago. I was at an addiction seminar here in the Loops, it was very good I learned some valuable information. The afternoon is unfolding quickly but I refuse to be moved. Just going to relaxe and enjoy the room going slowly dim (it's overcast today) as the sun makes it's journey to the horizon. I'm hoping to get out and get some pictures tomorrow. Perhaps the sun will make an appearance. While it has been nice and warm the last couple of weeks but the sun has been obscured behind clouds and fog for quite some time. Looking forward to sleep and sun. But I will settle for one out of two.
